Nicki and Big Beau's Babies are growing up and we now have some entertainment for the puppies in the puppy room.

Where does the time go? Lil Elvis was successfully raised via tube feeding, he had a $400.00 eye repair surgery, thanks to the neighbor's evil cat, and now he is in his new home enjoying his new beautiful owner, 17 year old Skye. And I miss him so much. Well, we all do.:)

And yes, Nicki and Big Beau's puppies are all getting around well, eating hard food like big dogs and looking for new homes too. Gosh, things happen fast over here.:) The photos in this post were taken a couple of days ago of Nicki and Big Beau's puppies, Dawson, Grayson, Blythe and Abbott. They will ready for new homes in approximately two weeks. These puppies are so sweet and playful. They all come when called and love to hop, skip and pounce. They are so entertaining to watch.:)

Also, I finally got a t.v. set and a dvd player for the puppy room. So, in the evenings the puppies enjoy watching the movies I play for them. They watch SpongeBob Squarepants, Chicken Run and more. I want to get them some Lassie dvds and some Benji dvds as well.:) And some of Mr.Milan's dvds as well. So that is what is going on over here. Oh and next Sunday Shane, the newest addition to our family of Bayou Bostons will come home. He is a little guy now but he will grow up and be a wonderful stud dog I am sure.

Sarah's surgery went well.

Sarah was spayed yesterday and she is comfortable and recovering well. I picked up her painkiller prescription this morning and she is on Tramadol. Fortunately she is taking it easy like I want her to. Lil Elvis is doing great. He is so spoiled and he will soon go home to the Hudson family in Florida. Kat and her daughter Skye are so excited about adopting Lil Elvis and we are excited for them too.:)

Sometimes bad things happen.

As sad as it can be a part of raising puppies is the reality that they are delicate babies and in the immortal wisdom of Dr. Karl Smith DVM, "Not all of the puppies are meant to make it." Today one of Nicki's brand new baby girls did just that. She passed away. No matter how hard you work, no matter how much you care, no amount of your concern and worry can prevent things like this from happening. When I caught sight of her lifeless little body I reached for her in hopes of bringing her around, but as soon as I picked her up that hopeless sense of loss quickly sank in. The cold of her body and the colorlessness to match confirmed my fears. She was gone. I cried for her and for all of the babies who never get to grow up. Who never get to open their eyes and ears to the joyful sites and sounds of the wonderful world. Who never get to cuddle and nuzzle with their human families and wrestle, run and enjoy games with their canine companions. I grieve for the lost and hold it in a special part of my being so that this experience will not be lost in complete and utter vain. In reality I wish to put the pain to good use and work with it, not simply through it so it can make me a far more loving, compassionate and unselfish person than I already am. Life is precious we must never forget that. Even for one second. Like a tiny flickering flame that must be shielded from a brute force of a senseless wind to snuff it out. So if life is precious than please do not wait until it comes down to a life and death situation. Cherish your loved ones whether they be human or canine or other. Show your concern, love and affection. Be brave to give correction and be gentle to show forgiveness and love. And when it comes to assigning blame I am always the first volunteer to take the giant bowl of cold tasteless blame in my welcoming lap, spoon posed to choke it all down, but simply put no matter what we do, sometimes bad things happen.

New babies? Oh yes!

Last night my sweet dreams were interrupted for the wonderful delivery of Nicki and Big Beau's brand new litter of five beautiful little Bayou Boston babies. Three little boys and two little girls. These babies are guesstimated to be big Bostons when mature. We always have a lot of fun helping Nicki to raise her babies. As you can imagine we can not wait until these babies are big enough to play. So... if you are interested in adopting one of these darling brindle babies please give me a call at (985) 607-5837.

Finn and Mason are looking for excellent homes!

Fresh photos of Ginger and Boudreaux's little boys, Mason and Finn who arrived on June 12th. They are so soft, sweet and adorable and guess what... they are looking for incredible new homes. These little gentlemen are guesstimated to be between 18 and 22 pounds when grown and they have had their first series of puppy vaccinations, have been wormed at 2,4 and 6 weeks of age and go potty on their news paper. They get along well with our other dogs and since they are home raised they are very familiar and comfortable with the sights and sounds of an active household. Both boys are $750.00 and they come with lifetime support from yours truly and my one year health guarantee as well. So... if your heart strings are being tugged and you are falling in love than give me a call at (985) 607-5837 for more information and how you can bring one or even both of these little darlings into your home and heart. ~Warning~ Adopting a Bayou Boston can lead to adopting another Bayou Boston which is definitely a good thing!

Improving the air quality in our puppy room with plants.

Let's face it, I have never had a green thumb but I have always had an interest in growing things and plants included. Couple that with my concern for the quality of the air we breathe. And by we I mean my family and our pets and puppies prompt me into doing a little research in cleaning the air and promoting additional oxygen into our indoor air. Fortunately I found a solution. Plants. So now we have some indoor plants. In our home which includes the puppy room. Only I will have to keep the plants up and out of reach of the puppies but aside from being aesthetically pleasing the plants will definitely become a permanent puppy room fixture. Happily I finally found some time to frame and hang photo art which a good friend of mine Rachel Nauck sent to me. Rachel is an extremely talented young photographer and if you would love to see more of her gorgeous photos or retain her photography skills than please visit her on Facebook at...

Yet another order of vaccinations arrived!

Do you know about www.revivalanimal.com? Well, I do and they most certainly know about me because that is where I order my puppy vaccinations. Just the other day the little old Fedex man brought them here to me with a charming smile and the puppies where even so kind enough to help me open them up.:)

They arrived with twice the number of cold packs to make sure they never get warm.:)

Only thing left to do? Vaccinate the puppies. Ouch!

We have two chocolate and white girls and one black and brindle and white girl available for adoption.

Wow, where does the time go? It seems just yesterday that these little girls were little newborns and look at them now. All pouncing around and being sweet and lovable. Yes, I am talking about Tipton, Sutton and Gabby. And as much as we are going to miss these little sweethearts it's time for them to go to their new homes. I snapped some fresh photos of the girls enjoying themselves this afternoon after the air turned a bit kinder and cooler.

If you are interested in these little darlings than please give me a call at (985) 607-5837. You can also contact me at judy.eckhoff@gmail.com

They are paper trained, up to date on their vaccinations and our vet has issued each one of these babies her health certificate.
