We have puppies!

The weather definitely can be frightful over here even in the south but we all manage to keep toasty, warm and happy.

Right now we have puppies. Boston babies as well as two miniature Schnauzers and three Snorkies. The Schnauzers and Snorkies are my brother-in-laws puppies. I'm helping him find great new homes for them. And they have such wonderful personalities and get along so well with my Boston babies and adults. It's so sweet to see them all running around and happy. They are the sweetest little things.

The little Boston babies we have available are Drake, Tatum, Louis, Jesse, Kelsey, Kitty and Royce. The little Schnauzers are Carlisle and Violet. And the little Snorkies, which are half miniature Schnauzer and Yorkshire Terrier are George, Alec and Lil Niles.

Also, the rain has finally stopped for now. I am elated about it. I thought that we were going to have to build an ark. I think this is the most rain we have had in a very longtime. But we have had enough so please let no more fall from the beautiful sky.

Lots going on!

Well, there's lots on going on with us. Our puppies are growing and they are all very sweet and adorable. A couple have homes and the rest are available to wonderful homes. So, email me if you are interested in one of my babies.

Also, a first year doe hit my van. She had to hit the same spot that I was crashed into by that unlicensed driver? Well, she did. But all was not lost, we turned around and picked her up and now she's in the freezer. I call it unintentional hunting. I guess we just tried to make the best of a bad situation. I guess that's the risk of driving in Greene County.

Oh, my Adeniums are growing. One was the victim of a neighbor cat's potty break. Needless to say, rubber gloves and a fresh clean pot and soil and lots of cleaner later I think that I salvaged my poor seedling. All that way from Thailand as a tiny seed and then a poor victim of a cat. Gosh.

What else is going on? Boudreaux Gaston has a new litter of seven with Roxy of Zachary Louisiana. I can't wait to see fresh photos of those sweet new babies. Also, Hailey and Big Beau's puppies are growing and doing well. Three little boys and one little girl. The boys are Louis, Sam, Jesse and the little girl is Aubrey. I will snap some photos of the babies to show everyone how big they are getting.

Long time no blog.

Well, it's been quite sometime since I blogged so I thought, why not do so today? Right now I have four medium sized to small litters of puppies and they are all doing great!

So, check it out on my website at...

www.bayoubostons.com

Also, my plants are doing well. I got my Plumera seeds in and I have a few that are already seedlings. And my Plumera cuttings are doing good. Three of them are really taking off. Now I have to figure out a fall garden. That ought to be a lot of fun.

Also, I have grown interest in using coupons at the grocery store. So, I will let everyone know how that goes. A friend of mine is really into using coupons for her food shopping and I intend to learn a lot from her in the way of "coupons". I wonder if yoga and meditation will be involved. "Yes, it will be young grasshopper."

I do know one thing I am thoroughly enjoying the present cooler temperatures we are experiencing. It is absolutely wonderful. I will have to snap some new photos to share. Well, I have to go for now. Lots to do as usual.

Three little Amigos looking for great homes.

All of these gorgeous little boys are in their brand new homes!!! Congratulations to our boys and their new loving families!

Cajun Prada and Charming have three remaining little boys looking for forever homes. They are Carter, Warner and Davis. They are nine weeks today and they are wonderful little guys.

I think that they will be between 20 and 23 pounds when grown. They saw Dr. Kelly Smith this past Monday and she was happy to report that all three are not only beautiful but sound in health.

Yesterday they received their second set of puppy vaccinations and I was sure to mark it on their vaccination record card.

They are available to go home right now. So, if you are interested in adopting one of these darling little boys then please give me a call at (985) 607-5837.

Sarah's litter is due to arrive this coming Sunday, August 16th however Dr. Kelly says that she could go anytime this weekend. And she is HUGE! The x-ray revealed five babies that we can make out. And they are small.

Boudreaux Jr. went home and Bootsie is bestfriends with Avalon and Prada and Charmings puppies are here too!

Well, we recently went from having only two puppies to well alot more. Boudreaux Jr. was here for a little while until he went home to Bill and Pam and Bootsie his little sister is here and she made fast friends with Avalon.

Prada and Charming's puppies are here, Warner, Carter, Davis and Benedict. I think that Holly in Ohio would love to bring Benedict home. She loves his brindle markings.

Sarah is getting closer to her delivery date and she is a bit cranky. She is expecting puppies with Charming and from what I can tell she is going to have a nice sized litter. The weather has been considerably cooler in the mornings and it's nice for working outside in the earlier hours of the day. Lots to do and more to plan to do. But... it's all fun and good.:)

I'm concerned about Phil's Babs. She's ill and in the hospital. I hope she gets better. Poor Babs. She is such a wonderful little girl.

New photos of Bella and Boudreaux's babies and Sabine went home today.

Absolutely adorable is the only way to describe Bella and Boudreaux's babies. I got these photos last night and I am so proud of all five of them.

Their little collars were a gift from their Papa Boudreaux.

All of the babies have homes anxiously awaiting their arrival with the exception of Bootsie. Bootsie is looking for her home and can not wait to fill someone special with her beautiful little personality.

If you are interested in adopting Lil Bootsie then please give me a call at (985) 607-5837.

Oh and Sabine went home today to an awesome family in Gulfport, MS. They promised to take plenty of photos. I can't wait to see her in her new home. She is a wonderful little girl.:)

More Zinnias blooming and I think that Sabine has a new home.

I am so happy that more Zinnias are blooming. They are so beautiful. And I have an Adenium that took as well.

I got a call today from a family in Gulfport, MS who would love to adopt Sabine so I guess she'll be going home tomorrow. I had a chance to speak with Ricky, the daddy and he said that they really has been wanting a Boston for a while now and now is the time.

Congratulations to them all. They will pick her up tomorrow afternoon.

What else is going on? Well, we got that much needed rain. Oh, the ground was so happy for it as was all creation.:) Speaking of creation. I am in the process of creating a decorating plan and backyard oasis. I think that since the swimming pools have come down in price I'll go ahead and invest in a 15x48 above the ground. It's going to be so wonderful. Not big but big enough for us. I'll have to let everyone know how it progresses.

Also, soon Dede's puppies will be here. Bootsie and Lil Boudreaux who will be renamed Kidd. And I will have some puppies, little boys from Bobby and his dog Prada. So, they will be here by the 23rd. I am so excited.

Growing Plumerias!

Long time no post. I've been busy and so have my plumerias, growing that is. I am so excited! All of my cuttings seem to have taken and are showing signs of growth. Little leaves are emerging.:)

I am so pleased. This is so promising. And the Zinnias are blooming too.

Tavio went home and his now re-named Walter. I spoke with Kristen and she said that he is doing great. Very loving and sweet and extremely happy and healthy. She promises to send photos soon. I have to admit that since he was here a little longer then our other puppies I was really attached to him. It's harder to let the babies go when they stay here a little longer. Plus, Kristen had a trip planned and asked if I would keep him a little longer which I did. I did the same for Ainsley as well. Just more time to spend with them and enjoy them even more.

Currently I have four little girls looking for great homes, two who are ready to go home right now, Jeanette and Sabine. Bella and Boudreaux's Bootsie is looking for her forever home as well and she can go home August 3rd. And another little darling, Avalon, who will be able to go home August 7th.

If you are looking for a special little boy then I will have some available to go home August 3rd as well. They are the children of Prada and Chocolate Charming. They are partly brindle with beautiful faces and awesome personalities just like the girls. If you are interested in one of my babies then please let me know.

It is a beautiful day and we ought to get some rain, Thank goodness!!!

Wow! What a beautiful day today is. The sun is shining the birds are singing and we are expecting rain. Hooray! But we could have temperatures up to 106 degrees!!! Yikes.

Boudreaux bought his babies some presents and toys and they will be sent in the mail on Monday.

I got a wonderful report this week from Bonnie who has adopted Lucy, who is Babs and Boudreaux's baby. She is playing up a storm with her older sisters, Betsy and Porgy. Apparently Lucy has sparked some puppyhood out of Porgy.

It's wonderful working with honest, caring and wonderful families such as Bonnie and Mickey. I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

I got around to planting the Giant Zinnia seeds from Lori. I sure hope they grow. Giant Zinnias would be so beautiful cut and arranged in the vase. I would like to take up flower arranging as well. Back to the Giant Zinnias, if they do grow then I will have a lot of them to transplant and share with friends. I'll give some back to Lori.:) I planted over twenty starter pots of them, with a couple of seeds in each pot. I sure hope they make it. I'll have to tend to them well and keep them well watered in this heat.

Oh and I snapped some new photos of baby Avalon. She is so fat, soft and fluffy. :) She's simple adorable!

Amos is got snipped and we still haven't gotten any rain and Phat Baby has a new home.

Alright here's what happened today.

Amos went to Dr. Smith to get snipped. He has to spend the night over after his operation. And we will pick him up tomorrow early, bring him home and make sure that he stays comfortable.

I feel so bad for him but it had to be done.

Also, I don't mean to whine but we do need some rain. In fact we are long over due for some. I was getting hopeful that some was heading our way and so far not a drop.

Soon I hope. I visited Lori today and she gave me some seeds from her giant Zinnias. I am going to plant them and see what comes up. Also, she gave me a cutting from her Hydrangeas. I hope they do well. I'll baby them if need be.

My pots haven't arrived yet but soon.:)

***Also, I forgot to mention that Phat Baby has a new home.***
I retired Phat Baby after one litter because she is not built to have babies and she had a horrible time when she did have her litter so while she was having her c-section I advised the doctor to go ahead and spay her as well. Well, I've been a bit picky about the home she would go to and I was waiting until the right home came along and it did. Congratulations to Larry. His family has her now and they love her. She is a fat little Boston ball.:)

On the way.... books and stuff for cooks.

I am so excited!!!

I've been wanting some new books on gardening and I came across a book entitled, "How to grow more vegetables" and also "All new square foot gardening". Yup, I bought them on eBay and I can't wait for them to arrive. It was so convenient, from the same seller.

Also, I have new cookware on the way. Cuisinart 12 piece Multiclad Pro cookware set. I was eying this set and I did some research and now it's on it's way too. I can not wait!!!

We need new cookware as well.

Oh, and my first Zinnia bloomed. I am so happy about that. I did some reading online about propagating plants using a cutting and some rooting hormone and I picked up some of the rooting hormone today. I grew the Zinnias from seeds but I want to do some cuttings and have them grow that way.

I will post photos of my little first bloom Zinnia.

I'm still having pain from the accident. Hopefully, I'll start feeling better soon. I hate being in pain, but then who does?

What else? I'm going to try to learn some real Louisiana dishes to cook in my brand new pots. I am so excited about it all.

Oh, tomorrow Amos is going to see Dr. Smith for the snip snip. He gets carsick so the trip ought to be memorable.

Tavio is now Walter and he will live with Kristen in WA. And Angelique and has been adopted and has been renamed Talula.:)

It's been an interesting two weeks. Car wrecks and exotic plant clippings and seeds and a new baby named Avalon and just going 200 mph wide open!

Lots to share. Spotted a snake in the yard. Thank goodness it wasn't poisonous. We snapped a photo of him and sent him on his way.

On Saturday Tavio got adopted and he will live in WA soon with Kristen. She is so excited to adopt him and I know that she will take great care of him. She has renamed him Walter.

And yesterday Angelique went home to Brittany and Wayne of Chalmette, LA. It was a complete surprise for Brittany. Wayne said that they had discussed adopting a Boston baby for a couple of years and now was the perfect time.

What else is going on? Riley's baby Avalon can look around now. Her eyes are open. It's so wonderful to see her with her eyes and ears open. And she is a pudgy little girl. Being a singleton she got all of the milk and it shows.

Also, my Plumeria cuttings are doing great. And I have to meet with a lawyer today concerning my accident. I still have to have my van painted, oh, joy! I'll have to be without a vehicle while they are painting it but it'll only be a little while. I am so happy that it wasn't any worst then it was.

Looking for a home for a little Boston boy and two little Boston girls and I have decided to force my Freesia bulbs.

I'm looking for homes for Angelique and Jeanette and for Tavio (who I renamed Aaron). They are all wonderful puppies who are playful, healthy and sweet.:) Aaron or Tavio loves cats toys. Like Ginger he loves the long fuzzy on a string and pole that they all play with. It's so funny to see them trying to catch it.

Also, I am thinking about forcing my Freesia bulbs to bloom. I have never grown Freesias before but I heard that they smell divine. Well, they really aren't bulbs, rather they are corms. They are going to be pink.:) And I have some beautiful white, pink and dark pink Gladiolus bulbs too. I got the idea from a photo of a beautiful bridal bouquet and thought, "Hey I would love to grow those." It's been eighteen years since our wedding so I am trying to think of the flowers I had. I guess I will have to look at our wedding album to see. I do remember having roses though.

I'll post the photos of my Freesia corms and their progress. Also, I potted my Plumerias and they are doing great so far. It's so hot outside to really do anything that I'd like to do. Miserable in fact. We need some rain. And now!!!

Picked up the accident report today.

Who's nineteen years old, only has a learners permit, and is uninsured while driving someone else's car? The girl who slammed into Isobel and I, that's who.

Nice....

Now what?

I am exhausted from the heat and from the stress and from my injuries as well. But... I do have good news. We will have new litters soon.

Sarah has been successfully bred to Charming and Ruby is now too and Sophie will hopefully have a litter with Boudreaux Gaston. So, we have new babies on the way. I guess some Boston ladies all come in at the same time. Last time Ruby and Sophie had their puppies exactly a week apart. Sometimes the heat of Summer keeps them from coming in but not these girls. I guess it's because I am keeping them cool.

Lots of work coming up.:) But... I enjoy it. Riley's baby is growing. Her eyes aren't open yet but they will be soon. She is so fat and happy. And Riley is the perfect mama like I knew she would be for her baby.

My Plumeria cuttings arrived from Hawaii today. Thanks Clarence!

Today my Plumeria cuttings arrived from Hawaii and I am soooo happy. I ordered....

2 Rainbow plumeria fragrant branch apx 15",

and 3 Mystery Plumeria apx 7-10 inches, fragrant

and Clarence threw in a couple of more as lagniappe. I am so pleased. I can't wait to get these babies going strong. I've been doing research while laid up from my accident on what to do for successful planting and growth. Got to make a list and go and get the ingredients to bring these babies up happy and more importantly healthy.

Notice that Clarence wrote with a black marker on my free cutting, "Recovery fast. Get a good lawyer and win!" I invited him to follow my blog as well.:) Thanks for the great Plumeria cuttings and the little get well gift too. I will definitely be back for more.

Also, I am waiting for my Adenium seeds to arrive from their long journey from Thailand. That's going to be exciting too. Isobel says that it's good that little things make me happy. I think so too.

Also, I have a new bloom in my Gladiolus patch. :) It's so beautiful.

I'm starting to feel better today, better then I have since the accident, which is great.

Sarah is being bred to Charming therefore we ought to have our next litter arriving the middle of August 2009. Her father is red and white and her mother is brindle and white and Charming's dad is red and white and his mother is chocolate and white. This is the first time Charming is being bred to a Boston who has a family history of red and white. Well, see what happens. Both Sarah and Charming are smart, sweet and lovable. These babies are expected to be simply wonderful. If you are interested in having your name added to the waiting list for these babies then please let me know.

My neck, left shoulder, arm, hand and fingers is killing me.

I'm trying not to go to the doctor but the pain is becoming steadily harder and harder to deal with. This accident did a job on me. Isobel is sore and has banged up feet of all things and where the seat belt tightened up about her.

But... my left arm feels so achy and I have stabbing and burning pains throughout the beck of my head, neck, left shoulder, left arm and hand and fingers. Anything I do to move it hurts extremely bad. I'm not getting good sleep. Tossing and turning and hurting. This morning when I woke up my entire torso was racked with stiffness and pain. Like I had done a thousand sit ups. My arm feels like it weighs a hundred pounds and I just sort of try not to move it. It just hangs there. Besides that I am doing o.k. I guess it beats being in the hospital or the morgue.

Update: Our friends surprised me by fixing my van. For FREE!!! Thad cancelled his fishing trip for me and the puppies.

Update....

****I have the best friends in the world. Today as a surprise to me they fixed my van in the incredible heat of Summer. Using the parts from another van, same model, they repaired my van and I'm behind the wheel again. I can not believe it. I did well not crying in front of the guys when Thad brought me over to Patterson's shop in Petal, MS to say "Thank you". But I called Misha to let her know what a wonderful husband she had and what a great friend we had in Blake and I started crying. It was too much. I am so happy!!! I also want to thank Kevin Moore, his website is www.moorefamilypets.com , they breed Great Danes and cute little Papillions. And they have beautiful puppies right now too.
As for the van, I'll need a paint job but that is all. I am elated. Words can not even begin the describe how wonderful this is. It's so wonderful to have great friends!!! Thanks to Blake and Kevin from the bottom of my heart.****

Being without transportation is awful. But I am not in any condition to drive today. Far too sore and I'm having burning, stabbing and stinging pain in my neck, shoulders and all the way down my left arm and hand. I'm using my right hand to type this, so it's taking forever.

Thad canceled his fishing trip, borrowed a van from some friends and drove the puppies this morning to the airport for me. That was so sweet and nice of him to do so for me. I know how much he loves to go fishing but he loves me more.:)

Right now my van is at a friend's shop. Hopefully, it isn't totaled. But it looks that way to me. They will have to assess if it is worth repairing, but even if it is I know that it will never be the same. It ran so good for a 2001 Dodge Caravan that it is. I feel that I've been robbed. Robbed of my van and I just as easily could have been robbed of my daughter's life and mine as well. I know that God was looking after us because the crazy girl who hit us was not. She is a danger to others on the road and herself.

Well, I'm hurting again. I'd better take some more OTC pain relievers and try to heal myself up.
